Following intensive training, members of the Emergency, Radiology, Facilities, Environmental Services, Security, Nursing Supervision and Education Departments at Putnam Hospital Center, along with the Carmel Volunteer Ambulance Corps and the Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services, recently participated in a radiological emergency drill designed to train appropriate agencies in radiation disaster preparedness. Evaluators and facilitators from FEMA, New York State Office of Emergency Management, and Entergy were on hand for the drill. Above, hospital personnel are shown taking a radiation level reading after assessing the “patient’s” injuries.
