Poughkeepsie, NY- November 17, 2011 – On Thursday, November 17, 2011 Health Quest hosted its “Ladies’ Night Out with Lisa Oz—A Healthcare Forum for Women” event at the Ramada Conference Center in Fishkill. The event, which focused on healthcare issues affecting women, featured physician guest speakers from each of Health Quest’s three hospitals, Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center and Vassar Brothers Medical Center. More than 400 women attended the seventh annual event.
Each year, “Ladies Night Out” focuses on providing important health and wellness information specific to women. Among this year’s presenters were Jodi Friedman, MD of Health Quest Medical Practice- Division of Geriatrics, Northern Dutchess Hospital, who discussed how to “Feel Young at Heart Again.” Board-certified OB/GYN Laura Kaye, MD, from Mount Kisco Medical Group, Putnam Hospital Center, spoke about “What You Can Do to Manage Your Menopause Symptoms” and cardiologist/electrophysiologist Sarah Levin, MD, of Hudson Valley Heart Center, Vassar Brothers Medical Center, focused on “Listening To Your Heart: What You Need to Know.”
The event culminated with keynote speaker, Lisa Oz. Lisa Oz is an author, radio host, business woman, producer and health advocate. Some may recognize her as the wife of noted physician and Oprah Show guest, Dr. Mehmet Oz. Beyond being a co-host and producer on her husband’s XM radio telecast, The Dr. Oz Show, she has reached fame on her own with such New York bestsellers as US: Transforming
Ourselves and the Relationships that Matter Most. Her discussion focused on the impact of the intersection, or collision of life and work that is being experienced by women today. She was available after the event to sign her book, which was made available for sale thanks to the support of Merritt Bookstore.
