Rhinebeck, NY – June 7, 2012 – Health Quest is pleased to announce that The Thompson House, its 100 bed nursing home facility located in Rhinebeck has achieved a four-star rating by the Center For Medicare Services (CMS). The four-star rating means the center is categorized as “above average”.

This rating incorporates the results of the most recent state inspection survey which occurred in March.  The survey was performed using the new Quality Indicator Survey (QIS) process.  The overall rating also incorporates factors such as facility staffing and quality measures.  Only one other nursing home in Dutchess County achieved four stars under the QIS process, which is known to apply a more stringent set of standards compared to the old process. None have yet to achieve five stars under the new process.

A further review of all the Dutchess County nursing homes on the updated, Medicare website shows The Thompson House’s 4-star rating is above the County average of 3 stars.  There still remain two facilities in Dutchess County which have not yet been surveyed under the new QIS process.

Designed and constructed in 1994, the 100-bed Thompson House is situated on the campus of the Northern Dutchess Hospital. The skilled nursing facility combines personalized, medical care with a "just like home" atmosphere. Because of its close proximity to the hospital, The Thompson House specializes in the care and physical rehabilitation of residents with medically complex needs.
